One of the characteristics of financial markets in Iran is the extent of government activities
in the financial system and non-competitive environment. How to access services and financial
resources is one of the challenges of the banking sector. This study identifies and examines
financial markets and its relationship to the banking sector. The main hypothesis has a positive
relationship between financial development and the negative effect of repression on financial
growth in Iran. Financial development has a positive and significant effect on per capita
production of banking, which indicates the role of financial development and the expansion of
financial intermediation on the growth of banking. Financial repression also had a negative
effect on the production of banking and economic assets, which revealed the need for political
reform of the financial sector and the need to move towards creating a competitive environment
in Iran's financial markets. Confirmation of the relationship between the development of
financial markets and economic growth at the banking sector level, in addition to the
relationship between the real and financial sectors, indicates the role of macro variables and the
financial environment in banking growth.
