The scholars who emphasize on the agency of actors in a revolution, explain how the revolutionaries undermine the power and legitimacy foundations of the existing political order by mobilizing people and resources. Based on this view, the ways through which political forces and resources are mobilized must be explored and investigated. On the basis of monographic research findings of Mary Hegland in Ali-Abad village in Shiraz during the years of revolution, the article shows that one of the most determinant components in politicization of university students has been Tayefeh-Kashi. This trend has played a determinant role in students’ political socialization and that’s why it’s necessary to explore this trend to get a good knowledge of the contemporary political culture in Iran. The findings of this article are not generalizable to the university student movement as a whole, but sheds light on one of the most influential trends which characterizes the manner in which students involved in the field of politics.
